After finishing high school in North Dakota in 2001, I immediately joined the US Navy and was stationed in San Diego. After serving as a diesel mechanic in the fleet for 4 years I decided to shift careers and become a Navy SEAL. As a SEAL I completed 6 deployments to various areas around the globe and ultimately retired after 24 years at the end of 2025. I am now a full-time wood worker and specialize in custom furniture.

My woodworking journey started in 2012 after returning from an 11-month long deployment to Afghanistan. I needed a hobby that wasn’t related to the SEAL teams to allow myself to decompress. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and problem solving. Slowly my hobby turned into a business and I’ve been very fortunate to have very loyal clients. Because I was working out of my garage, I couldn’t scale too quickly. I finally took the leap in 2022 and moved into a commercial space and that’s given me the opportunity to focus on larger pieces. My favorite part of this job is being able to solve a problem for a client. Whether you have a weird nook in your house that you can’t find something that fits or you need a piece to match the style of an heirloom piece you inherited, it’s always satisfying knowing we scratched that itch you couldn’t reach.
